Plastics are a common material with a wide range of applications, providing a cost-effective and practical solution for many modern engineering applications. Mineral processing and metallurgical plants have long used materials such as metals and rubbers, however with advances in plastic technologies, plastics are starting to be used in further applications.

Aldo Mostacci, an expert in the engineering plastics field will review the material science of plastics, along with a comparison with other materials used in bulk handling, mineral processing, and metallurgical plants. Applications of these materials in these areas will also be discussed, outlining where the properties of plastics provide an advantage.

Aldo Mostacci, a distinguished Mechanical Engineer, possesses a rich academic background, including a University of Sydney mechanical engineering degree and studies in Management Perspectives and Financial Management from La Trobe University. With nearly three decades of experience in the engineering plastics industry, Aldo currently serves as Dotmar Engineering Plastics' Technical Marketing & Engineering Manager. In this role, he oversees national marketing and engineering operations, contributing his expertise to various projects.
