About this event
The epithermal workshop is over two days:
Day one will include presentations on epithermal deposits of Patagonia given by Diego Guido, Professor and Economic geologist, La Plata National University. His presentations will provide an introduction to epithermal deposits of the Deseado Massif, allowing for discussions on the differences and similarities between the two different epithermal regions.
Day two will introduce and examine the Epithermal deposits of the Waihi area, including review of core from a range of deposits as well as field excursions to Martha Pit and Gladstone/Winner Hill.

Diego Guido
Dr. Guido has specialized in researching epithermal systems in his more than 25-year career studying mineral deposits in volcanic environments. He worked as Senior Technical Advisor for Argentex Mining Corporation between 2006 and 2015, Exploration Vice President for Austral Gold mining company between 2016 and 2018, and Exploration Director of Astra Exploration since 2021. He has consulted for more than 25 mining companies since 1998 and is a founding partner of DG Exploraciones consulting company. In addition, he is author of more than 230 scientific articles and more than 120 technical reports. He conducts and supervises explorations and investigations in Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, China, the United States and South Africa.
